Fulfilled prophecy is a wonder, it is something that has always amazed me since I first started down the path of my Acts 17:11 journey. Not to say that everything I've learned hasn't been on the backs of those more dedicated in the study of God's Word than I. Like everyone, I've found scriptural issues with parts of just about everyone's teachings when it comes to Bible prophecy and so my journey diverted from soaking in teachings to something I should have done more of from the start but didn't have the confidence to, study the source myself. I believe with the help of the Holy Spirit, we can still approach God's Word without degrees, and with the trusting mind of a child and still understand what God has planned for His people. It just takes more than accepting isolated passages and a willingness to continually accept you're wrong and shift.
One of the things about fulfilled prophecy that struck me was the precision and detail. It is this characteristic that led me to focus on some very precise language that strikingly all centered around the time of the 70th week of Daniel. There are 9 scriptures given with either stated or implied starting and/or ending events. Many of these have a commonality and when taken seriously and compared with each other, build a framework of exact day prophecies that define some of the structure of the 70th week of Daniel.
One event period speaks about the same time frame referring to 2 different definitions of time, years and weeks. Although it's not definitive because the month/year associations could follow where some months have 29 and some 30 days.
Another appears to be speaking about the same time frame referring to years and days. This could technically be two different periods being spoken of so also. So this could potentially associate all three periods to a 30-day month and 360-day year, but again it's not definitive and my past assumption this is the case could be wrong.
Abomination of Desolation
Obviously a primary centerpiece of yet unfulfilled prophecy is the abomination of desolation. There are 6 scriptures with periods of time that hang on this event.
Daniel 12:11
And from the time [that] the daily [sacrifice] shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, [there shall be] a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
This 1290 days starts at the AoD, but doesn't define an end point. I believe we get that from the context of the passage. This passage is all about Israel and starts with the AoD Daniel also prophesied about in Daniel 9:27, the 70th week of Daniel, that last period of seven years that God would complete His work with Israel to fulfill His promises before they dwell in the land during His reign.
In the beginning of this chapter, we see Michael the restrainer standing to allow the revealing of the man of sin, triggering the time of Jacob's trouble in Judea as described also in the Olivet Discourse. He then goes to cast the dragon from heaven who then comes to earth to persecute Israel, the remnant of her seed and those holding to the testimony of Christ. Revelation 12:7-17 Regarding this AoD reference, a conversation defines a second period of time, about 30 days shorter.
Daniel 12:7
And I heard the man clothed in linen, which [was] upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that [it shall be] for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these [things] shall be finished.
Here we see a 3 1/2 year period mentioned, 42 months or around 1260 days. This is the period of time from the AoD where the antichrist will have his power. We know this period ends when Christ returns in glory defeating the gathered armies, casting the beast and false prophet into the lake of fire and binding the dragon for 1,000 years. Revelation 19:20-20:3 This marks the end of the 3 1/2 year, 42 month period of the reign of the beast from the revealing at the AoD to Christ's return.
Taken in concert with the 1290 days both starting at the AoD, it would seem that there is 30 days from Christ's return until the end of the 70th week.
Revelation 13:3-8
And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who [is] like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty [and] two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Here we see this same 3 1/2 year period, starting at the AoD when Michael stands, revealing the man of sin, the dragon is cast from heaven and gives the beast his power for 42 months. Since this power is taken at Christ's return, this associates the same period of years with months during the war with the saints.
Daniel 7:25-26
And he shall speak [great] words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy [it] unto the end.
Here we see the same 3 1/2 year period describing this time of the reign of the antichrist.
Revelation 11:1-2
And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty [and] two months.
Here we see this same period of time defined several places before as the same amount of time the antichrist will have power. Presumably, the temple will have been built in some form prior to the AoD if the daily sacrifices are stopped at that time.
However, it may be that the destruction of the wrath of God that destroys the temple prior to Christ's return so it may not be referring to the exact same time. It could line up with the point from the AoD to Christ's return or perhaps this is the same time frame as the next passage referring to the 2 witnesses.
The Two Witnesses
Revelation 11:3-8
And I will give [power] unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred [and] threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will. And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. And their dead bodies [shall lie] in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
Here we see a 1260 day period with an unknown starting point, but with a reference to when the end will be. First it should be noted that this is passage is placed between the 6th and 7th trumpet, the second and third woes. They are killed by the beast that ascends from the bottomless pit. A couple chapters previous, the fifth trumpet was blown (first woe) where the bottomless pit was unlocked by an angel with a key. The locusts that come out have a king over them named Apollyon.
It would seem then that if the beast from the bottomless pit kills them, whether Apollyon or someone else, the pit was locked prior to the 5th trumpet, meaning there's some floating time during the second half of the 70th week that this 1260 day period ends, placing the start at some point in the midst of the first half. It should also be noted that these scorpions have the power to sting and torment people for five months, meaning the bottomless pit must be opened sometime at least five months before Christ returns.
Israel protected
Finally, there are two passages that speak to a metaphorical woman representing Israel. Genesis 37:9-11
Revelation 12:5-6
And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and [to] his throne. And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred [and] threescore days.
There are two ways one might take this passage. Either the child being caught up to God is just a reference of what did happen and this is speaking of Joseph and Mary taking Yeshua to Egypt, or it is in line with the reference later in the chapter.
Revelation 12:13-16
And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man [child]. And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
This is clearly aligned when the time of Jacob's trouble is cut short for the sake of the elect and Israel that fled at the AoD is protected for 3 1/2 years from the dragon-powered beast.
This also brings up an important point that the dragon/beast is given power for the same amount of time that Israel is protected in the wilderness from the dragon/beast, yet they are clearly also going through persecution immediately after the AoD. I believe this speaks to how long the time of Jacob's trouble will last. Let me clarify, not the generalized tribulation period that will last throughout the 3 1/2 year reign of the antichrist, but specifically that unparalleled time of great tribulation focused on Israel and Judea.
Yeshua warned specifically those in Judea to flee to the mountains. It's called the time of Jacob's trouble that Israel will be saved out of, that will be cut short. All the mention of an unparalleled time are focused on Judea. As we saw, Revelation 12:17 clarifies this separation. The dragon goes after Israel first, but only after she is protected from the dragon, will the dragon go after the remnant of her seed, presumably outside of Judea. That's not to say this time won't be global already, but the focus of prophecy is clearly Israel initially.
Note also that means there is an approximate 30 day period from the AoD until Israel is protected and therefore Israel's 1260 day period will end 30 days after Christ returns and deals with the beast and false prophet and their followers.
This lines up with the belief that the 1290 days is from the AoD to the end of the 70th week as it accounts for that 30 day gap between Christ's return and the end of the 70th week.
It kind of makes sense because 30 days is not a long time, but Israel will be protected in the wilderness when Christ returns and He will destroy the gathered armies and perhaps prepare the land before Israel is ushered back into the promise.
This also means that the AoD would be about 30 days before the exact middle of the 70th week. Given the sequence of the fifth seal martyrs | sixth seal sun/moon/stars | 144,000 & Multitude | seventh seal & Trumpet 1 in Revelation 6:9-8:7, I believe the day of the Lord starts with sudden destruction just around 30 days after the time of Jacob's trouble is cut short for the sake of the elect. Sometime during the time Israel is carried to the wilderness protected from the dragon, the 144,000 are sealed and the bride is caught up to meet the Lord in the air after the sign of the Son of man is seen heralding the sudden destruction of the day of the Lord. After a short silence in heaven, the trumpet judgments begin to sound.
This chart lays this all out graphically, which I needed to begin wrapping my head around all this.
Overall, I think this framework shows some of those signs that will come before the end that will herald the awareness of more precise timing as we get closer. Before getting to Yom Teruah 2030, we should be seeing the political shifting in Israel and the rebuilding of the temple at least 3.5 years before, both of which seem poised for an intense sudden change at any moment.
If my understanding is correct we would then see at some point during the first half of the week, the third temple will be rebuilt and the daily sacrifice started. To the unexpectant eye they could just seem like two committed truth speakers at the rebuilding/rebuilt temple. They would likely be pointing to Yeshua through the prophets in the Word. Annoying to the Orthodox Jews with their minds set on the temple and the old ways, but later to be hated as truth tellers standing against the beast and false prophet, unable to be stopped and given power to perform miracles.
Then there's the intriguing possibility of what Chris White proposed in his book False Christ (https://bibleprophecytext.com/) and the "wars of the antichrist" idea of fulfilling Daniel 11:36-45 just prior to the AoD. But that's a whole other can of worms I encourage you to open if you have not already…
