Bonjour,
The Scriptures have something to say about Hamas...
In Genesis 6.11b we read: "And the earth was filled with violence"
Literally, we read: "And the earth was filled with Hamas".
In Hebrew, the word hamas means "violence, that which is false, cruelty, injustice, devastation". This is the first appearance of the word in Scripture. This violence will bring God's judgment through the flood.
We know that "what happened in the days of Noah will also happen at the coming of the Son of Man" (Matthew 24:37).
Interestingly, the Arabic word hamas means "zeal, enthusiasm or ardor". Through the Hebrew word hamas - and the Islamic movement that bears the same name - the Scriptures give us a glimpse of the kind of violence that will prevail in the last days before God's judgment and the establishment of the eternal kingdom.
The Word sheds light on the religion that will commit such violence, and that will predominate in the end times in the Middle East and in the land of Israel, the epicenter of all end-time biblical prophecies.
Blessings,
François-Xavier
