It seems that more often than not, people will blur the lines between the Whore of Babylon,  Beast 1 of Rev 13, Beast2 of Rev 13 and Satan .  And no matter how confident they come across with their interpretation it all seems to still be a bit of a tangle in the end. Now I 'd say that the most popular candidate for the Whore of Babylon is the Catholic Church , and believe me I can totally identify with why that is and I have believed this myself in the past as well.  But then the Pope starts to get confused as the Antichrist (Beast 1 of Rev 13) and the False Prophet (Beast 2 of Rev 13).  But if the Pope is either of these why would he still be around after the destruction of the Whore of Babylon? And why would the kings under Beast 1 tear the Catholic Church to pieces and burn her?  Both Beasts appear to be on the same team all the way to the Lake of fire.

May I submit to you that The Whore of Babylon is actually the Apostate Northern Kingdom of Isreal in the latter days.   

Are the 12 Tribes still just scattered into all the nations or did they also become nations of their own in these latter days? A covenant was made with Abraham that he would be the father of many nations . (Gen 17).  And didn't Jacob bless and describe the latter day national characteristics of each tribe in the final chapters of Genesis?

Jacob also adopted Joseph's sons Ephraim and Manasah as his own sons and specifically gave Ephraim the birthright of the first born. Which is a double portion of the inheritance. 

Now it seems that most people believe that the Tribes of Israel are just scattered into every nation of the Earth. This is true but isn't it also true that there is One Nation in these latter days that has All the Tribes of Earth gathered into her? And isn't it also true that there is One Nation so blessed beyond all others that people from every Tribe and nation came to it seeking a better life? Now just as Joseph gathered all the tribes of Israel as well as a mixed multitude from all the nations of the world into one nation, so too in these last days all the Tribes of Earth are gathered into one nation again, which is Ephraim or the nation we know as The United States of America. And just as those people brought to Egypt were made slaves to Egypt, so too are all the people brought to the US made slaves to sin. Have her "sins piled up to heaven" yet?  

I would invite you to review the characteristics of the Whore of Babylon ( Rev. Chapters 17 and 18), are these not the characteristics of a world dominant nation that would need to be taken out of the way for the Beast power to dominate the world?  Yes she sits on many waters - the US has 800 military bases around the world. 

Now isn't the main idea behind national harlotry unfaithfulness to YHWH?  How could a Gentile nation be a harlot? How could this be the Catholic Church? When where they ever faithful to God?  Did God ever seal a marriage covenant with them? "Church " is a word not well translated and some would say it is actually used very deceptively. The only legitimate Bride is a faithful Israel. That should be very apparent to anyone that actually knows their bible cover to cover. But what should unfaithful Israel be called?  All through out the Bible when a nation was referred to as a harlot it was almost always about Judah or Israel (read Ezekiel 16 it's a jaw- dropper).  In fact I believe there are only two instances where it seems like non-Israelites are associated with harlotry- Isaiah 23 and Nahum 3, but I will show both these chapters are foreshadowing judgements against nations of Israel. 

Now does God not judge with equal weights and measures? Why is the Whore of Babylon paid double for her sins? Rev. 18:6.  Is it because she is the nation of Ephraim who received the double blessings?

And what about Isaiah 40:1-2 where it specifically states that Israel would be punished double!

And she is destroyed because God himself puts it in the minds of the 10 Kings to do it for Him.  Does this not fit the pattern of God using other nations to punish Israel as He did so many times before?

And why is she to be burned? That's a Torah punishment for a daughter of a priest caught  fornicating.

May I suggest to you that where it says " Come out of her my people " that that is Remnant (faithful) Israel being called out of Apostate Idolatrous Israel!

Now what about those two other references to harlotry that don't seem to be directed at Israel?

Nahum 3 is about Nineveh.  It's worth noting that these were a repentant people at one time according to the book of Jonah . But doesn't this seem to also foreshadow the Whore of Babylon who is the nation of Ephraim !

Now what about Isaiah 23? Well believe it or not this will give us a major clue as to who the first Beast of Revelation is that comes out of the Sea.  When you read Isaiah 23 what nation do you think matches this description in our time?  Also read Ezekiel 28 doesn't this directly associate the Antichrist (beast 1) and Satan (the Dragon) to this modern day Tyre!

I saw the movie "Oppenheimer" yesterday and I had to wonder wether it ever occurs to people that there would be long term consequences for the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. As the first and only nation to ever bring down such "godly wrath " upon another nation, she set a very dangerous precedent for herself. If she were ever to provoke the wrath of God now what would that look like?

"Therefore her plagues will come in one day—death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her." Revelation 18:8
