Be careful how others may miss this one fact from Genesis 1:2-5,... DARKNESS was there, THEN Light. It repeats, for our understanding, "and evening and morning were the first day" and so on,... read for yourself and ask The Holy Spirit to reveal truth as HE gave it to us right in plain sight. The "seals" have been opened to those who have eyes to see.

Hebrews count the day correctly, it begins at sunset. Before The Passover Lambs were put in the oven, (Gentile Wednesday evening before sundown) Messiah was put in the tomb. Because they hurried and asked for His Body "before" sunset so they could eat the Passover.

So, think about it, All night it was Thursday night, then Thursday day. 1 day. At next night, sunset begins Friday night, then Friday day day 2. at sunset, Shabbat, begins Saturday night then Saturday day 3 days and 3 nights and early before the sunrise on the first day of week (our Sunday) the tomb was empty.

This is the way Israel/Hebrews (Jews) counts days. See how backwards/twisted, total opposite HaSatan has made it to confuse us?

My intent in responding is to give what was given to me, I needed this answer for myself too. I never understood how some religious systems could get 3 days and 3 nights out of "good Friday to SUNDAY!!! DOESN'T ADD UP.

Alex, please let the Word speak for itself. Here is Numbers 33:3. Moses (a Hebrew) knows exactly when the new day begins. "On the morrow"

"And they departed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the morrow after the passover the children of Israel went out with an high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians."

Exodus 12:18 "In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even."

Here is Exodus 12:10 giving instructions about when the passover meal is eaten (only on the night of the 14th) "And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire."

And here is Mark 14:12 "12 And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover?"
Matthew 26:17
Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?

Thursday to Saturday Night is 3 days and 3 nights.

You are correct that satan has sown confusion. But the Word will clear it up for you.

I think everyone agrees that God's first act of creation is recorded as "God said Let there be Light"

You understand that was the beginning of day one right?

Then notice that there is evening and morning. Now count, there are 6 evenings and mornings before the seventh day. The pattern of creation is work (creation works) then evening and morning. (Rest every night). And the whole seventh day is rest.

If the second coming of Jesus is to happen at the beginning of the seventh day then the resurrection of Jesus should also be at the beginning of the seventh day and not at the end, right?

sorry I think I replied as a separate comment. But I'm not sure I answered very well. Yes His return aligns with and signifies the beginning of the millennial sabbath. But that is not dictated by the timing of His resurrection because His return is about our resurrection, not His. So the Fall Feasts say more about the timing of His return than the Spring Feasts.

I'm not sure that I understand you, you're telling me that Jesus' resurrection actually points to the eighth day, right? But the truth is that at the end of the seventh day comes the war of Gog and Magog, which speaks of the descent of the Heavenly Jerusalem to Earth at the location of today's Middle East between Iran, Turkey, Libya and Ethiopia (Sudan). So, then the wicked are resurrected and Satan deceives them for the last time to attack God's people located in Heavenly Jerusalem and then God executes the final judgment on them. There is no connection between the wicked and the resurrection of Jesus because the wicked have nothing to do with Jesus.

Sorry, I didn't mean to confuse with that 8th day reference. I just meant that the "First Fruits" falling on the sunday (1st day of the new week) just hints toward a future prophetic "8th day".

But I wouldn't say those in the second resurrection have nothing to do with Jesus. Yes there will be some who go into second death. But many being judged by their works will be given mercy and eternal life because they unwittingly obeyed His Law on their hearts. God will redeem all who are His.

About the Gog Magog war at the end of Satan's 1000 years of lockup - I think we will have plenty of time in the Kingdom with access to unhindered truth and heavenly records which will help us understand that event far better than we do in this age.

I struggle to understand how there could still be anyone for Satan to deceive at the end of a 1000 years of peace and abundance under His unfettered reign on earth. Yet the prophecies say what they say. Generally I don't think the point of prophecy is for us to know what happens in the distant future. Only that we can recognize when they are occurring. When we see what is happening now, we get a good sense of what is in the more immediate future.

God has revealed everything to us, but it seems that someone interfered in changing the Bible before we were born, which God warns us about in the last sentence of the Bible. As for Gog and Magog, God resurrects the wicked at the end of the Millennium and allows Satan to deceive them one last time to prove that they are rightfully not on God's side and that He has chosen in harmony with His righteous character. The wicked will forever be wicked even before the Heavenly Jerusalem and the face of God.

Much of the Word has been messed with. Yet He has kept it despite the malice of mankind - because it is the Living Word.

I'm curious about what you are saying, that the second resurrection precedes that final war, and Satan is trying to assemble his forces from resurrected people. Am I getting that right?

Are there scriptural writings about that? I don't mind if it's outside of "canon". We are to test all things so I don't mind.

Revelation 20 and Ezekiel 38 talks about same event, read it very carefully. Yes, Satan will gather an army to make war with the saints at the end of the Millennium when the Heavenly Jerusalem descends to earth. God gave us the exact location where the Heavenly Jerusalem would descend and told us everything exactly from word to word. Genesis 15:18 promises that Abraham's spiritual offspring, not physical offspring, will inherit that location.
