Zechariah 4 confirms what I said. Revelations 11:3-4 I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days clothed in sackcloth. verse 4 THESE ARE THE TWO OLIVE TREES AND THE TWO LAMPSTANDS. Romans 11 Paul connects the Olive trees to both the Jewish and Gentile churches. [ I never said anything about religion's] Churches are bodies of people. And yes, they are referred as the olive trees. The seven churches of Asia had 5 rebuked and 2 commended. Smyrna and Philadelphia. Zachriah 4:12 tells us that only two of the pipes of the candle sticks were being serviced. Only two churches were functioning as a candle giving light. Revelations 1:20 tells us that the lampstands are CHURCHES. The apostle Paul referred to the church as a body. Now there may be two individuals appointed to lead these witnesses, but they are clearly the two olive trees and the two lampstands. Just before Jesus was resurrected, he told his disciples the head of The CHURCH Acts 1:8 you shall receive power when the Holy Ghost comes and be WITNESSS ...
WITNESSS ARE TO OLIVE TREES AND TWO LAMPSTANDS
And yes, I understand that these two olive trees also are used to identify the house of Judah and the house of Israel. But that changed later.
They are described as individuals in revelation. And Zechariah says "two anointed ones", and Haggai is also about two specific individuals who lead the Remnant in building the House of God. And Zechariah says prophetically that zerubbabel's hands laid the foundation and his hands will finish it.
The Two are also shadow pictured in several other places. Moses and Aaron, Zerubbabel and Jeshua, etc. These Two are also "clothed is sackcloth".
So with the Word repeatedly referencing two individuals, why do some people insist they are not?
Is there a truly scriptural reason for this?
Churches do refer to bodies of people, but the two bodies of people "House of Judah and House of Israel" are not churches. They are families who are brought together under one head (Hosea 1).
And BTW, Judah is saved at that time and Israel is all who are called sons of the living God. That's a reference to the adoption thorough Christ Jesus (Lion of Judah). So when these two anointed ones are giving their Testimony, they are united under one Head. That means we are finally one body. Not two.
It is good for us to be seeking truth about this because they do play a very important role in this time very near. They lead every tribe, tongue and nation (who reject the beast, whose names are written in the book of life) to take great action and exploits against the antichrist system. To the point that their slaying is celebrated by the wicked.
And the while world sees their bodies last dead for 3.5 days.
They lay dead in the streets.
Sorry I posted before I finished.
Anyway, the question is why should we say it is not "two anointed ones", individuals? Which is contrary to both the plain reading, and the prophetic pictures.
I meant to include John and Jesus, another shadow picture. And maybe most important. Both John (baptist) and Jesus are regarded as prophets too. All of these shadow pictures help us understand who they are when they are revealed.
